Trend Micro, a cloud security company, announced a partnership with Facebook to provide users with safer social networking. The security firm will educate users on how to protect themselves and their digital lives from malicious sites and malware. Facebook will support integration of the Trend MicroSmart Protection Network infrastructure, which uses cloud technology, threat correlation, and a global network of threat intelligence sensors to proactively stop malware and web threats before they reach the computer. Facebook will utilize this technology to help block malicious links from their site. This partnership, therefore enables Facebook users to experience the same digital security that bigger companies who contract Trend Micro’s services have access to.
